Contractor Sued for Allegedly Underreporting Payroll

Wednesday, February 16, 2022 | 0

A New York contractor allegedly reported only a single worker when buying workers’ compensation coverage in 2016 rather than the 90 people he actually employed, according to a lawsuit a carrier filed in New York.

According to the Westchester & Fairfield County Business Journals, Charter Oak Fire Insurance Co. claims Alpha Omega Realty avoided paying nearly $1.5 million in premiums by not accurately reporting staff.

Charter Oak is suing the company and its owner, Anthony Frascone, for fraud.

The newspaper reports that the lawsuit contains similar allegations as were in an indictment filed last month by Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Walsh charging Frascone with grand larceny and insurance fraud.
