The Oregon Division of Occupational Safety and Health fined a Portland roofing and painting company $104,000 for six safety violations, including not protecting workers from fall hazards.
Investigators with the agency referred to as Oregon OSHA allege that the company “failed to follow requirements to implement adequate fall protection systems,” including a personal fall arrest system.
Workers were exposed to falling 6 feet or more, and the company left four of its workers in danger of potentially falling between about 11 feet and 22 feet, Oregon OSHA said in a statement.
