Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill allowing police and firefighters with injuries that are presumed to be compensable to select a doctor and increasing the provider’s reimbursement to twice the rate authorized by Medicare.
The governor on Wednesday signed SB 808, which creates an exception to how providers are selected to treat firefighters, law enforcement officers, correctional workers and probation officers with tuberculosis, heart disease and hypertension presumed to arise from employment.
