William M. Carero, a workers’ compensation administrative law judge in Oxnard, died April 24 at the age of 69.
Carero had served as a judge at the Oxnard District Office since 2001.
He graduated from Loyola Law School in 1980 and got his start in work comp as an applicants' attorney before moving to Stockwell, Harris, Woolverton and Helphrey, where he worked as a defense attorney for 17 years.
Carero was a chair member for the California Lawyers’ Association from 2018 to 2021, where his role was to promote and encourage community among practitioners.
