Legislation introduced in Nebraska would repeal laws enacted in 1993 requiring public and private employers to establish safety committees to develop written injury prevention programs.
LB 397 would also repeal statutes creating the Workplace Safety Consultation Program, through which the Department of Labor conducts inspections to determine whether employers are complying with standards promulgated by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
