Retired WCJ Joins Karlzen Hutchinson Defense Firm

Former workers' compensation judge Gilbert Katen has joined the Torrance-based defense firm of Karlzen Hutchinson as "of counsel."   Katen spent more than 15 years presiding over workers' compensation hearings in Marina Del Rey and Santa Monica before retiring from the bench in September 2014.  Since then, Katen has served as a private arbitrator and mediator. He also has served as an expert witness and consultant for workers’ compensation and civil litigation law and procedure.
