The number of claims for COVID-19 fell by about 25% in January compared to December, according to a new report by the Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation.
The DWC reports 3,567 claims in the first month of 2022, down from 4,673 in December.
While down compared to the previous month, COVID-19 accounted for one in every three indemnity claims filed in January. The 34,783 claims filed in 2020 were 31% of all indemnity claims, while the 29,848 COVID-19 claims in 2021 accounted for 28.4% of all indemnity claims.
