Report: Lawmakers Pause on Pinnacol Privatization Proposal

Efforts to privatize Pinnacol Assurance are likely on hold until the 2026 legislative session, according to a report published in a newsletter run by the Colorado Chamber of Commerce. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis in November proposed privatizing the state-chartered workers’ compensation carrier as part of a broader plan to address an estimated $1 billion deficit for the fiscal year that starts July 1.
