A regional transit worker in Northern California was ordered to pay $34,529 in restitution after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor fraud charge.
Justin B. Hamilton said he was injured while working for the Sacramento Regional Transit District in August 2017. He was charged with fraud in 2019 after surveillance footage contradicted his description of the accident.
Hamilton pleaded no contest Friday. In addition to the restitution order, he was also sentenced to one year of probation and 45 days in jail.
