The owner of a now-shuttered Massachusetts construction company pleaded guilty to charges relating to a scheme to defraud the IRS of payroll taxes and to defraud his workers’ compensation insurance carrier by failing to disclose how many workers he employed, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Argyrios “Eric” Mavros, 57, pleaded guilty on Monday to 10 counts of failure to collect or pay taxes and one count of mail fraud. He’s scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 17.
