A former corrections worker agreed to plead guilty to one count of workers' compensation fraud and to pay $40,000 in restitution, New York State Inspector General Lucy Lang announced.
Jennifer Bardin-Lapan, a former officer with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, also agreed Thursday to waive future rights to benefits related to her claim.
Bardin-Lapan claimed that she injured her back, knee and groin in an incident with an inmate in November 2022.
