A construction worker who was allegedly drunk and stoned when he harassed a woman and got into a fight with a former U.S. Marine was charged with fraud for filing a workers’ compensation claim seeking benefits for injuries he sustained in the altercation, the California Department of Insurance announced.
Meliton Hernandez Martinez Jr., 23, was on a midmorning work break when he made allegedly “inappropriate gestures” at a female in a nearby parking lot. He was confronted by the woman’s boyfriend, a former Marine, who reportedly asked Martinez to be more respectful.
