Indiana lawmakers introduced legislation that would allow workers to choose the physician who treats their industrial injury and would increase death benefits for members of the Indiana National Guard.
House Bill 1182, by Rep. Charles Moseley, D-Portage, would allow injured workers to choose a treating physician, starting June 30. Choice of physician would extend to all injured workers regardless of the date of injury.
If an injured worker is not able to select a physician and the injury requires immediate care, the employer would be required to provide an attending physician.
