U.K. Scientists Warn Some Nanotubes Share Risks with Asbestos

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh's Centre for Inflammation Research who injected multi-walled carbon nanotubes into mice detected precancerous growths similar to those attributed to asbestos fibers.The university study said the damage is limited to long, straight multi-walled nanotubes, which collect in the outer linings of the mice's lungs, called the mesothelium.
