CMS Holds Conference Call Reminding MSP Community of Upcoming ID Change

Starting in April 2018, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will assign new identification numbers to 60 million Medicare beneficiaries. CMS held a conference call with the Medicare Secondary Payer community last week to discuss the change. Current identification numbers contain a beneficiary's Social Security number.
