High Court Upholds Award for Worker With Spinal Cord Injury

The West Virginia Supreme Court ruled that a worker was entitled to benefits for a spinal cord injury she suffered when a colleague pushed her to the ground. Case: Murray American Energy Inc. v. Morris, No. 20-0717, 11/05/2021, published. Facts: Renee Morris worked for Murray American Energy Inc. as a motorman. Morris alleged that she was injured in the course of and resulting from her employment when her coworker, Bruce Osborne, "belly-bumped" her.
