The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined 19 companies more than $51,000 combined for what it calls “serious” COVID-19 safety violations.
The agency said the companies, 12 of which are construction firms, had not taken precautions to protect workers and communities from the spread of the disease. The citations came as a result of on-site inspections by regulators.
