As Florida regulators have continued to deliberate over changes to medical reimbursement dispute rules, the number of disputes has spiked after several years of decline, a new report shows.
And the adjudication of those disputes shows that insurers continue to underpay medical providers in the vast majority of cases.
“The Medical Services Section discovered that the health care provider had been underpaid in 82% of all determinations issued for FY 2019-2020,” the report noted.
