California exterminators will have to file proof of workers’ compensation coverage or submit a statement declaring they have no employees to operate in the state, under a bill enacted by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Newsom on Friday signed SB 1064, by Sen. Josh Newman, D-Fullerton, a bill that both the Senate and Assembly passed unanimously.
The measure borrows licensing requirements that currently apply to construction contractors and applies them to structural pest control contractors.
