The Minnesota state House of Representatives passed a bill that would extend until May 1, 2022, a presumption that COVID-19 is compensable for some workers.
The presumption lawmakers enacted last year expires May 1.
The House on Thursday voted 102-28 to pass HF 1203, by Rep. Dan Wolgamott, D-St. Cloud, which would preserve the presumption for another year.
The presumption applies to firefighters, peace officers, paramedics, health care providers, nurses, child care providers and correctional workers.
The bill now goes to the Senate for additional hearings.
