The New Jersey Legislature this week approved a bill that extends family leave because of the coronavirus, and a plan to expand a workers' compensation presumption for more essential workers is under consideration.
Senate Bill 2374, sponsored by Senate President Stephen Sweeney, was approved by unanimous votes in both Houses on Monday. If signed by the governor, the bill would require employers to provide up to 12 weeks of leave to care for family members stricken by the COVID-19 respiratory disease.
