The unfunded liability for Florida’s second injury fund fell to $226 million as of June 30 from $237 million at the same point last year, according to a new report by Aon Risk Solutions.
Aon’s report found that actual paid losses during the fiscal year that ended in June were $30.5 million, up from $24.9 million for the fiscal year ending in 2020. Aon cites a slowdown of payments and requests during the spring of 2020 due to COVID-19 as one reason payments were higher in 2021.
