Claims Handlers Welcome Proposed Changes to WCIS Reporting Rules

Stakeholders are welcoming the California Division of Workers’ Compensation proposal to simplify the rules on subsequent reports of injuries, saying the current data reporting requirements are overly burdensome. The DWC on Oct. 15 posted to its online forum proposed changes to its electronic data interchange implementation guide that would eliminate the more than 30 event-based triggers for subsequent reports of injury, or SROIs.
