Court Publishes Decision Applying Privette Doctrine to Injured Worker, Denies Rehearing

A California appellate court has denied an injured worker’s request for rehearing on his effort to pursue a tort suit against his employer’s customer, and published its decision ruling that the Privette doctrine barred the worker’s attempt to obtain civil redress. The case, Acosta v. MAS Realty LLC, No. B316420, was originally released in September as an unpublished decision. Only published opinions are binding precedent in California.
