Express Scripts Rolls Out Opioid Management Program

Express Scripts has launched a new opioid management program aimed at minimizing patients’ initial exposure to opioids, and helping to prevent progression to overuse and abuse. The program includes patient education, safe drug disposal, tools for physicians and safety checks for dispensing pharmacies, the company said in a news release on Wednesday. ExpressScripts conducted a pilot study that included about 100,000 patients new to opioid therapy.
