WorkCompCentral Promotes Longtime Employee to President

WorkCompCentral has appointed Kristen Chavez, one of the company’s earliest employees, as president.
Kristen Chavez
Chavez joined the WorkCompCentral team in 2004, at age 19, starting as a part-time receptionist and clerical assistant. Her mother, Terri, was the company’s first employee.
Chavez worked her way up to eventually become manager of operations. She was on a leave of absence to spend time with her growing family in July 2016 when WorkCompCentral founder and Chief Executive Officer David DePaolo perished in a motorcycle accident. She immediately returned to resume her duties.
Since then, Chavez has worked in a variety of positions, including sales, information technology and personnel, said Managing Director Lief Feil.
“Kristen has worked for WorkCompCentral for the past 14 years, quite literally starting from the bottom up,” Feil said in a statement. “In each and every instance she has demonstrated a serious view of her duties and responsibilities, and never wavered in continually promoting WorkCompCentral to the industry with the utmost of professionalism.”
Feil said board of directors member Rick Kissen will remain chief executive officer of WorkCompCentral for the time being. Feil has been acting as managing director of the company since DePaolo’s death.
Chavez will now take charge of day-to-day operations, he said.
