Court Grants Summary Judgment for Worker Hit by Falling Plywood

A New York appellate court ruled that a worker was entitled to summary judgment on his Labor Law claim for injuries from a falling piece of plywood. Case: Passos v. Noble Construction Group, No. 2016-11125, 02/06/2019, published. Facts: Roberto Passos worked for Genuine Construction Services. Genuine was hired to perform work at a building in Brooklyn owned by SM Wythe. While Genuine workers were disassembling a concrete formwork, a 4-by-8-foot plywood sheet fell onto Passos, knocking him to the ground.
