BREAKING: Court Upholds Reimbursement for Medical Marijuana

The New Mexico Court of Appeals ruled that an insurer must reimburse a workers' compensation claimant for the cost of medical marijuana to treat his low back pain, even though the substance is illegal under federal law.In Vialpando v. Ben's Automotive Service and Redwood Fire & Casualty, the appellate court rejected an argument that an order to reimburse a claimant for medical marijuana would force the employer to violate federal law.
