The Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation published its latest annual report on California’s comp system, showing an increase in claims and a decrease in costs two years ago.
CHSWC’s 2019 annual report, which was published Friday and includes data from the 2018 calendar year, shows total system costs fell to $23.496 million from $25.071 million in 2017. Total medical payments in 2018 of $6.921 million were down compared to the $7.208 million paid for medical in 2017.
