Proposed Rules Would Limit Use of Opioids and Control Drug Costs

The Michigan Workers' Compensation Agency has proposed changes to the state fee schedule designed to limit the use of opioid painkillers and cap the price of both compound drugs and "biologics" for injured workers. The state agency has scheduled a public hearing on Nov. 7 on proposed revisions to the agency's Health Care Service Rules based on recommendations from its Health Services Committee.
