The dragnet targeting pharmaceutical manufacturers that pay medical providers to write opioid prescriptions has continued to widen. Two months after an Insys Therapeutics sales representative pleaded guilty to bribing doctors in New Jersey, the company’s district manager for the region has entered guilty pleas. Federal prosecutors said this week that Jeffrey Pearlman, 51, pleaded guilty in Connecticut to engaging in a kickback scheme that defrauded federal health care programs and expanded illicit prescriptions for Subsys, a mouth-spray medication containing the pot...
