CAAA Says Revised Formulary Rules Could Allow Abrupt Termination of Prescriptions

The California Applicants’ Attorneys Association is warning that the language of proposed formulary rules could lead to the abrupt termination of drug therapies when they take effect at the start of next year.  One of the changes the division made to the proposed formulary rules before opening a 15-day comment period that closed Sept. 22 modified the transition process requiring doctors to either provide justification for continuing to use drugs that are subject to prospective utilization review, or put together a plan to taper patients off the non-exempt drugs, or transition ...
