Cal/OSHA to Consider Changes to First-Aid Kit Requirements

The Cal/OSHA Standards Board will meet April 21 to consider changes to requirements for workplace first-aid kits under state Construction Safety and the General Industry Safety orders. Proposed revisions will give employers two options: Contents of the first-aid kits can be set by an employer-authorized licensed physician. Supplies can be determined according to tables of minimum contents. Revisions would remove some items such as safety pins and add items such as medical exam gloves.
