Gov. John Bel Edwards on Monday signed three pieces of legislation aimed at curbing Louisiana’s opioid epidemic, even as efforts to establish a workers’ comp drug formulary fell short in this year’s legislative session.
House Bill 192, by Rep. Helena Moreno, D-New Orleans, will limit to a seven-day supply first-time opioid prescriptions to outpatients for treating acute pain.
