Efforts to return injured employees to work got a boost in eight states last month with the award of $19 million in funding through a U.S. Department of Labor program.
The DOL program, called the Retraining Employment and Talent After Injury/Illness Network, awarded funding, ranging from $1.88 million to $2.5 million, to agencies in California, Connecticut, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Vermont and Washington.
The grants will be used for return-to-work pilot projects that in some of the states will include employees hurt on the job.
