The California Senate approved a bill that would expand license classifications required to file a certificate of workers’ compensation insurance with the Contractors State License Board.
The Senate on Thursday voted 28-12 to pass Senate Bill 216, by Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, a measure that was carried over from the 2021 session.
The bill would require concrete, warm-air heating, ventilating and air-conditioning contractors and tree service contractors to file proof of coverage with CSLB until Jan. 1, 2025.
