California-based Zenith National Insurance Corp. on Wednesday reported that workers' compensation underwriting income rose in the fourth quarter and for 2006.
The Woodland Hills-based insurer reported fourth-quarter underwriting income from comp of $82.1 million compared to $66.5 million in the same period a year before. For the year, underwriting income for the line of business rose to $313.6 million, up from $213.2 million the year before.
The insurer reported reinsurance segment losses of nearly $597,000 for the quarter and $20.5 million for the year.
