Sandra Canas, 44, of Daly City, was arrested on November 10, 2004 and charged with two felony counts of receiving income while receiving workers' compensation benefits and one felony count of misrepresenting her level of disability to her doctor.
The case, being prosecuted by the San Mateo County District Attorney's Workers' Compensation Fraud Unit, was jointly investigated by the California Department of Insurance, Fraud Division (CDI), the District Attorney Inspectors and Keenan & Associates, a privately held insurance broker and consulting firm in California.
