By Greg Jones, Western Bureau ChiefAs part of the growing effort to curtail costly and potentially dangerous opioid prescribing practices, Arizona employers can now demand that physicians report to them information from the state’s prescription drug monitoring database when prescribing controlled substances to injured workers.The new requirement in Arizona is included in House Bill 2155, which was signed into law by Gov. Jan Brewer on April 3 after sailing through the Legislature on a combined vote of 83-2 with only two members of the House of Representatives voting against the measure.A...
