The board of directors of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation on Friday approved a rebate totaling $1 billion to state employers in both the public and private sectors.
The funds, part of the “Another Billion Back” program proposed by Gov. John Kasich (R) in August, will be dispersed to 3,800 municipal governments, school districts and special districts, as well as to 184,000 private employers throughout the state. Funds are also earmarked for new workplace safety programs.
In October, BWC will begin issuing checks equal to 60% of premiums...
