A Senate Budget Subcommittee has at least temporarily blocked a $4-million increase in funding for district attorneys to fight workers’ compensation fraud. A budget subcommittee chaired by Sen. Michael Machado, D-Linden, voted to deny the increase in funding for district attorneys fighting workers’ compensation fraud at a hearing May 21.
