Election year politics could prolong the budget and workers' compensation reform standoff between Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner and House Speaker Michael Madigan, according to an editorial published by the Decatur Herald and Review.
With a primary election coming in March and a general election slated for November, the editorial said legislators will be reluctant to vote for anything that could upset voters.
