By Greg Jones, Correspondent A group of California attorneys want the state’s high court to decide if interest has to be explicitly awarded in a Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board order before a trial court can enforce the action. In Koszdin v. SCIF, the 2nd District Court of Appeal held that in enforcing a payment of interest on an award that is silent on the issue of interest, a trial court would be modifying the order from the WCAB, an action it lacks the jurisdiction to undertake.
