DWC Revises Med. Billing and IBR Rules, Extends Comment Period

The California Division of Workers' Compensation gave notice Monday that it has revised proposed rules on independent bill review, standardized paper billing and payment and electronic billing payment and extended the public comment period.Because of the revisions, the DWC will give the public until Oct. 23 to comment on the rules, an additional 15 days.The proposed modifications include:Revised forms for providers to request a second bill review and IBR.Expressly allowing IBR for a bill involving one hospital stay.Conditions for determining IBR eligibility, such as whether the second requ...
