Plumbing Company Cited for Excavation Hazards

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a Pennsylvania plumbing company for three repeat and four serious violations of federal safety standards in connection with excavation hazards associated with installation of a sewer line in Philadelphia.OSHA said in a press release on Monday that DG Barrett Plumbing and Health is facing $40,480 in fines in connection with an investigation that began last October.Inspectors said the company lacked a protective system for workers and lacked a barrier for a spoil pile.
