CASEFRIEND INTRODUCES CAISEY PROVENANCE, BRINGING ATTORNEY-VERIFIED ACCOUNTABILITY TO LEGAL AI

New feature creates a transparent record of attorney-approved AI work, helping law firms integrate artificial intelligence responsibly and with confidence

MESA, Ariz. - March 16, 2026 - Casefriend, the leading digital automation platform for the legal industry, today announced the launch of Caisey Provenance, a new feature within its case management system designed to bring greater accountability, transparency and attorney oversight to AI-generated work product.

As artificial intelligence becomes more integrated into legal workflows, attorneys are increasingly focused on how to ensure AI-generated content is reviewed, verified, and used responsibly. Caisey Provenance addresses this challenge by embedding attorney verification directly into its AI-native case management system.

This newly launched feature prompts attorneys to review and formally approve summaries and answers it generates. Once approved, the system records the approving attorney, approval date, and associated source materials, creating a clear, auditable record that the AI-generated work has been validated by a licensed attorney. Responses also remain linked to underlying case documents used to generate them, allowing attorneys to easily reference the sources behind the AI's analysis.

Approved outputs are then organized within a dedicated Caisey Provenance page, providing firms with a centralized view of verified AI work. This allows attorneys and staff to quickly identify trusted summaries and answers that have already been reviewed, reducing duplicate effort and enabling teams to build on validated insights across cases. Only licensed attorneys can grant or revoke approval, reinforcing that ultimate responsibility for legal work remains with qualified professionals. Additionally, unlike general AI tools that require uploading sensitive documents to external platforms, Caisey operates entirely within the secure Casefriend environment, ensuring confidential client data remains within the firm's control.

The introduction of Caisey Provenance reflects a growing focus within the legal profession on responsible AI use. Recent ethics guidance has emphasized that attorneys must maintain strict oversight when using AI tools in their practice. Casefriend designed the feature to operationalize that oversight by making the review process visible and trackable.

"AI has created extraordinary opportunities for efficiency in legal practice, but speed alone is not enough. Law firms still need the assurance that work is accurate, reviewed, and accountable to a licensed attorney," said Christian Puzder, CEO of Casefriend. "Caisey Provenance bridges that gap by combining the power of AI with the qualified oversight that defines the legal profession. It allows attorneys to move faster while maintaining the verification, transparency, and responsibility their clients expect."
