OSHA Proposes $199,800 in Fines against Piping Plant

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing $199,800 in penalties against a Houston manufacturer for four repeat and three serious violations after a worker was struck by a broken die piece on a mechanical press in June. OSHA said it cited Piping Technology and Products Inc. for repeat violations, including failure to guard punch presses and band saws, provide lockout/tagout training regarding energized sources and conduct an annual review of lockout/tagout procedures.
