State Considering Eliminating Work Comp Board of Review, Replacing With Appellate Court

The West Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee is considering a bill that would eliminate the Workers’ Compensation Board of Review, creating two intermediate appellate courts in its stead that would hear all civil, criminal, workers’ compensation and Public Service Commission appeals. The committee held its third day of hearings on Tuesday on a draft version of Senate Bill 341, which was proposed last week by Senate Majority Leader Ryan Ferns, R-Ohio, and Sen.
