A judge in Washington state ordered a man to repay the $122,000 he collected in workers' compensation benefits while working another job.
Efrain A. Camarena, 58, injured his neck and back in 2006 while working on a dairy farm in Skagit County. A doctor determined that he couldn't work because of his injuries, and he collected wage replacement benefits off and on for nine years.
In 2023, investigators with the Department of Labor and Industries conducted a routine comparison of employment records and learned that Camarena was working.
