The California Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation announced Mitch Steiger was unanimously elected chairman and will succeed Sean McNally.
Steiger, a lobbyist for the California Labor Federation, was appointed to the commission to represent workers in June 2019.
He has been with the California Labor Federation since 2010, and prior to that served as researcher/organizer for United Food & Commercial Workers Local 21 and legislative advocate for the Washington State Building & Construction Trades Council.
